Admissions Processes & Requirements
The on-line application fee of $65.00 is required at the time of submission of the application. To begin the application, please click here. Applicants who meet these deadlines often have better access to financial aid and housing resources. Note: GRE scores are accepted but not required for the Master of Science degree programs

| • | Physical, cognitive, emotional and character requirements |
| • | a BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university. Online degrees may not meet admission requirements. Please contact the Office of Admissions for more information. |
| • | 60 credits in the liberal arts, of which at least 9 must be in the social sciences. In some cases, applicants with a BFA/BM may not meet the liberal arts requirement. Please call Admissions for a review of your transcript. |
| • | an academic record reflecting the ability to do graduate work at a B level |
| • | three letters of recommendation |
| • | a personal statement |
| • | a serious commitment to the profession of social work and the capacity to develop professional self-awareness, often demonstrated by involvement with internships and other related life experiences |
| • | a readiness for graduate study, including the capacity to meet the intellectual, ethical, and emotional demands of professional training |
| • | an ability to engage in abstract reasoning, to think analytically and conceptually, and to formulate mature judgments |
| • | an aptitude for clear self expression, both written and oral |

for international applicants from non-English speaking countries, a
working knowledge of English and a minimum score on each of the
following exams:
*Applicants are not automatically exempt from taking the TOEFL if they have received a degree from an institution whose official language is English. Please contact the Office of Admissions for more information. |
The Advanced Standing Program for BSW Graduates also
requires
| • | an undergraduate degree from a U.S. social work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. BSW degree must be completed within 5 years of desired entry term. |
| • | an overall B average or better in that program |
| • | a B or better in all undergraduate social work courses |
The Reduced Residency Program also requires
| • | employment in a human services organization providing social services on a full-time basis for at least two years or on a half-time basis for at least four years prior to application |
| • | that employment will continue during the pre-residency or part-time phase of the program |
| • | a method choice compatible with current work responsibilities |
The Transfer Program also requires
| • | a year of field and course work at another graduate school of social
work recognized by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) |
| • | a B or better in all first year social work courses |
The Dual Degree Program also requires

We strongly encourage applicants to complete their applications before or by
the published deadlines: October 15 for the 16-month Program and January 15 for the Two-year and Advanced Standing Programs. All
components of the application should be received by the deadline.
