Research Assistant

$18,600 - $21,600, Part-Time, 21 Hours Per Week

This is a grant-funded position expected to last 1.5 years

Job Description:

The incumbent is responsible for carrying out activities related to collection and management of data from participants in two federally-funded studies. One of the studies focuses on criminal justice-involved individuals attending alternative to incarceration (ATI) programs. The other study targets gay men (or men who have sex with men) of color involved with club drugs. Position may convert to full-time contingent on sufficient project need as well as performance of the incumbent. Major functions include: (1) Conduct outreach activities which involve engagement, recruitment, and follow-up with study participants; (2) Administer structured face-to-face interviews and co-facilitate groups with study participants; (3) Data entry; (4) Provide high level administrative support and assist Project Director(s) with all study activities; day to day office and study related tasks.

 

Qualification include:

•    Bachelors Degree in social sciences or research related field.

•    Preferable experience and knowledge of socio - behavioral research projects.

•    Extensive experience working with diverse marginalized populations.

•    Outstanding ability to be detailed oriented.

•    Excellent interpersonal as well as written communication skills with a strong ability to   work collaboratively as part of a team.

•    Demonstrable ability to work autonomously, and capacity to manage and successfully complete multiple tasks with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

•    Commitment to social justice for disenfranchised populations.
